About me

My name is Lovelee Lundy. I am a published author, poet, advocate, and the proud mother of my amazing son, Cairo. My work lives at the intersection of real life experiences, emotion, and storytelling.
When Cairo was two years old, he was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Navigating our new normal was both challenging and deeply rewarding. There was so much to learn, and while I am no expert, I felt called to create something I wish I had during those early days. That calling became my children’s book, Hello, My Name Is Cairo—written in a way children can understand and designed to support parents navigating a new diagnosis. Through Cairo’s journey, the book seeks to educate, inspire, promote representation, and spread awareness of ASD with compassion and care.
I use our lived experiences, along with my God-given gift for poetry, to inspire and connect with others. Poetry has always been my coping mechanism—my safe space to process life honestly. Over the years, my writing has grown more vulnerable, reflective, and intentional.
Since becoming a mother, I have navigated anxiety, depression, fear, self-doubt, and a wide range of emotions. I poured those experiences onto the page, and without realizing it at the time, that process became my first published poetry collection, Feel, Heal, and Enjoy. The book journeys through five themes: family, women’s empowerment, my Black reality, love, and self-love.
At the heart of everything I create is a simple but powerful goal: to help people feel seen, understood, and connected through shared emotion. I strive to provide support, encourage healing, and spark meaningful conversations that lead to growth and change—always within a safe and welcoming space.
If my work helps even one person, that alone is enough. To be able to do so repeatedly through my books is truly magical.
